What is with Peter Garratt man?

I mean, he didn’t even make a final decision on what to do with plastic bags, he just said something like: “we had a lovely discussion”

kdhaghua;’g!!

“The PNG government has ordered a ban on plastic shopping bags in a bid to curb a major littering problem across the country.

In a public notice late last week announcing the move, Minister for Environment and Conservation William Duma said a ban on plastic shopping bags would take effect in two stages under a year-long interim environment policy.

The importation and sale of plastic shopping bags into PNG has been prohibited from January 1 and the manufacture and sale of them in PNG would be banned from June 1.

Any breach of the bans would count as an offence under the Environment Act 2000.

Plastic bags are widely used in retail outlets across the country but large centres like Port Moresby are strewn with discarded ones.”

I mean, if Papua New Guinea can do it surely we can, most people opt not to use plastic bags anyway! why not make it compulsory?
