Our wireless in Leederville isn’t set up yet so I figured I would come to one of the many coffee shops around here with free wireless yew!
I feel kind of pretentious right now, drinking my flat white, while typing on my blog in a cafe on the cafe strip about a five minute walk from our house.
I don’t mean to make anyone jelous but yesterday Cathy and I rode to the city and it took us five minutes.
Theres this bike path that goes just alongside the freeway, it’s so awesome!
you can see the city and it feels surreal with all these cars just zooming past.
Speaking of freeways, on Christmas morning I went for a ride along this freeway path, I could see smoke up ahead and soon enough i was riding past a full view of this care up in flames, and the whole freeway had just stopped.
there was this one guy standing in the middle of the road and cars were screeching to a sudden stop. This car was just swallowed by flames, the black cloak of smoke was covering the bike path. I took one large breath and rode through to the bridge over the freeway. There was this ambulance on the other side of the freeway and it was trying to get to the other side, soon it was winding it’s way through the awkwardly positioned cars near the crash. Then there were the fire engines, and then the police.
I sped back home to tell the family, mum is always interrested in these things. We read later that everyone got out of the car before it burst into flames, but the lady who had been driving the car the smashed into the one that bust into flames was fighting for her life and was pregnant.
These kinds of things make me so aware of my mortality and the fragility of life.
I wish i’d had a camera but what I wish for most is that the lady survives and I’m not sure about the baby, there might not even be any point wishing for her/him.
anyway battery is low
It seems that someone else is writing my life.
This past week has been incredibly exciting and emotional.
We recieved our TER results which entailed a lot of screaming, hugging, swearing in disbelief and many many phone calls. When I read mine I had to pinch myself, I hadn’t been worried as such because I also found out recently about getting into my chosen course at WAAPA (jazz voice), but i wasn’t expecting 95.25!
and then on christmas eve we moved into our new house in Leederville.
the whole family was together for the first time in a very long time lets just say.
then after having packed and un packed and shifted furniture all day we squeezed the five members into a small hyundi excel along with the dog. All the people on the freeway were laughing at us as Terri drove for the second time along the freeway.
anyway, have to go:)
